Jim Vogt
President and CEO

With more than 25 years of leadership experience in both start-up and established corporations, Jim Vogt brings a wealth of business and technology expertise to his role as president and CEO of Zettaset. Most recently, Jim served as senior vice president and general manager of the Cloud Services business unit at Blue Coat Systems. Prior to Blue Coat, he served as president and CEO at Trapeze Networks, which was acquired by Belden, Inc. He was also president and CEO at data encryption start-up Ingrian Networks (acquired in April, 2008 by SafeNet). Prior to his private company posts, Vogt spent 11 years with SynOptics, Bay and Nortel where he held several product line and general management roles, including president of Nortel’s Small Business Solutions group, vice president and general manager of Bay’s workgroup product and distributed network systems divisions, and vice president of product management for Bay’s desktop products group. Jim holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nevada and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Brian Christian
CTO and Co-founder

Brian Christian is a Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Zettaset. He is the visionary behind its products and its platforms. Zettaset is the latest in a long line of successful and industry revolutionary ventures that he has created. His past ventures included SPI Dynamics which was the leading expert in Web application security assessment and testing before its successful exit to Hewlett-Packard in 2007. Brian has over 16 years of experience in high tech positions within the information technology industry with the last 15 years of his career focused exclusively on product innovation. His role at SPI Dynamics provided an ideal venue for his leadership and visionary capabilities. Brian’s successful career includes key security positions at Lucent Technologies, Security First Technologies and Internet Security Systems (ISS). While at Security First, the first online banking company, Brian helped to establish the baseline of Internet financial commerce and also created security policies for several Web-based Internet banking sites throughout America and Europe. While at ISS, Brian helped to create the standard for the industry’s first penetration and vulnerability assessment models. Brian has spoken on the topic of Web application security at numerous conferences world wide including SANS, Infosec, Infosec Canada, ISACA Audit Conference, ISSA and ISACA Chapter Meetings, Infosecurity and CSI. He was the San Francisco OWASP Chapter President from 2004 to 2007 and has contributed to and spoken at many of Silicon Valleys Emerging Web 2.0 events and conferences.

Timothy Straight
VP of Sales and Business Development

Timothy Straight is Zettaset’s Vice President of Sales and Business Development. In this capacity he is responsible for maximizing the growing demand for the company’s innovative Big Data platform and solutions. Straight brings nearly 35 years of IT and business experience to the Zettaset team. Previously he served as Vice President of Looxcie, Inc. and. At Looxcie, Straight helped bring to market the world’s first wearable video camera, which was named one of Time magazine’s Top 50 Inventions of 2010. Prior to Looxcie, Straight served as the Vice President of Sales and Operations for AirMagnet, where he developed the strategic sales and marketing initiatives for the wireless security and networking company. He also was instrumental in AirMagnet’s sale to Fluke Networks. Straight has also held Vice President and Director level positions at CommTouch Software, Netscreen Technologies, Mirapoint, Gadzoox Networks and other firms. He has a strong reputation for establishing strategies necessary to grow both startup and established organizations. Straight earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Tim Reilly
VP of Finance and Operations

Tim Reilly is responsible for Zettaset's financial strategy and related operations of the company. Tim has nearly 20 years of business, financial and operational experience at public and private companies in the networking, software and internet industries. Prior to Zettaset, Tim was the VP Finance at Trapeze Networks during which time he helped lead the company through significant growth to become one of the market leaders in the Wireless LAN industry and ultimately its acquisition by Belden. Prior to that, Tim served as the VP Finance at netVmg, a provider of intelligent route control products, which was acquired by Internap Networks. He has also held numerous financial positions at WorldxChange Communications and CATS Software. Tim began his career as an auditor in the Palo Alto office of Ernst & Young, LLP. He is a certified public accountant and earned a BS Accounting from the University of Southern California.

Chris Tilton
VP of Marketing

With 20 years of high-level marketing experience and a proven track record in helping launch successful companies, Chris Tilton brings a wealth of marketing and software security expertise to the Zettaset team. As Vice President of Marketing, Chris oversees the company's marketing, advertising and public relations initiatives and plays an integral role in its growth and development. Chris has held a variety of key marketing positions during his seasoned career. Prior to joining Zettaset, he worked with several industry-leading companies, including SPI Dynamics, which established itself as the expert in Web application security assessment and testing before its successful exit to Hewlett-Packard in 2007. Following that, Chris was recruited by several other startups, where he created successful marketing departments from scratch and developed them into integral lead- and profit-generating components for each venture. At Purewire, Chris played a key executive role as VP of marketing programs and contributed to its successful exit to Barracuda in October 2009. Soon thereafter, Chris was hired at Veracode, where he created and managed the company's marketing initiatives in Europe. In addition to his skills in budgeting and negotiation, lead generation and project management, Chris is well-respected in the software security industry for his innovative ideas and team-player attitude.

Tom Masucci
VP of Strategic Alliances

Tom Masucci is a seasoned professional with over 10 years of start-up experience in the enterprise software sales. A sampling of products and services brought to market include enterprise security data warehouse (SDW), enterprise data classification, enterprise static code analysis, application threat modeling, third party vendor assessment, MSSP, multi-vendor front line support, security architecture and assessment, policy and procedure review, firewall, VPN, NAC and IPS. Prior to Zettaset, Tom lead the western region of several start-ups through acquisition, those include Ounce Labs (IBM), Siegeworks (Fishnet), Intruvert (McAfee) and OneSecure (NetScreen). During these ten years, he was elected Vice President of the Silicon Valley ISSA 2005-2007 and successfully won election for membership chairman in 2008. He’s also successfully built seminars on the use of Predictive Analytics for Fraud Mitigation, and the relationship between Risk Management and Litigation Readiness. Tom is a frequent speaker at security conferences, a respected leader amongst his peers, and a trusted advisor to his customers.

Jeffrey Krone
VP of R&D and Co-founder

Jeffrey Krone brings a comprehensive background in business, technology, software development and design, telecommunications, and mergers and acquisitions to Zettaset. Jeffrey is Co-Founder and President at Zettaset and is responsible for the company’s Professional Services Organization, and Operations. Before joining Zettaset, Mr. Krone held the key positions of President of KroneDavid, Inc., a full service Finance / Accounting, M&A, and IT Services consulting company.  Mr. Krone also served as President of CNS, a full service IT, M&A, and Telecommunications consulting company. Prior to CNS, Krone served as Vice President of Technology for Platinum Equity, a $10b private acquisition firm.  In this position, Jeffrey focused on the product side of all acquisitions, assisting Platinum portfolio managers with strategic product issues and a wide range of technology initiatives, including product and vendor selection, contract negotiations, telecommunications, and Network / Data Security. Jeffrey was responsible for engaging in Technical Due Diligence, negotiating M&A related Agreements (e.g. Asset Purchase, Stock Purchase, Transition Service Agreements), and determining the future viability and structure of acquired companies.  Additionally, Jeffrey was responsible for negotiating all telecommunication contracts for both Platinum Equity corporate operations and all associated operating companies. Jeffrey focused on forging strategic technology and communication relationships that enabled Platinum Equity to more effectively acquire and manage all its operating units. Prior to joining Platinum Equity, Krone was Director of Research at Webtone Technologies. Jeffrey directed a group responsible for investigating and developing emerging technologies that integrated into webtone’s multimedia telephony call center software solution.  Mr. Krone served in various roles including Development Manager at Dunn & Bradstreet Software.
