  Jim Vogt President and CEO, Zettaset With more than 25 years of leadership experience in both start-up and established corporations, Jim Vogt brings a wealth of business and technology expertise to his role as president and CEO of Zettaset. Most recently, Jim served as senior vice president and general manager of the Cloud Services business unit at Blue Coat Systems. Prior to Blue Coat, he served as president and CEO at Trapeze Networks, which was acquired by Belden, Inc. He was also president and CEO at data encryption start-up Ingrian Networks (acquired in April, 2008 by SafeNet). Prior to his private company posts, Vogt spent 11 years with SynOptics, Bay and Nortel where he held several product line and general management roles, including president of Nortel’s Small Business Solutions group, vice president and general manager of Bay’s workgroup product and distributed network systems divisions, and vice president of product management for Bay’s desktop products group. Jim holds a BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nevada and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Brian Christian CTO and Co-founder, Zettaset Brian Christian is a Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Zettaset. He is the visionary behind its products and its platforms. Zettaset is the latest in a long line of successful and industry revolutionary ventures that he has created. His past ventures included SPI Dynamics which was the leading expert in Web application security assessment and testing before its successful exit to Hewlett-Packard in 2007. Brian has over 16 years of experience in high tech positions within the information technology industry with the last 15 years of his career focused exclusively on product innovation. His role at SPI Dynamics provided an ideal venue for his leadership and visionary capabilities. Brian’s successful career includes key security positions at Lucent Technologies, Security First Technologies and Internet Security Systems (ISS). While at Security First, the first online banking company, Brian helped to establish the baseline of Internet financial commerce and also created security policies for several Web-based Internet banking sites throughout America and Europe. While at ISS, Brian helped to create the standard for the industry’s first penetration and vulnerability assessment models. Brian has spoken on the topic of Web application security at numerous conferences world wide including SANS, Infosec, Infosec Canada, ISACA Audit Conference, ISSA and ISACA Chapter Meetings, Infosecurity and CSI. He was the San Francisco OWASP Chapter President from 2004 to 2007 and has contributed to and spoken at many of Silicon Valleys Emerging Web 2.0 events and conferences.
John Kim Managing Partner, HighBAR Before joining HighBAR Partners in 2009, John Kim was with W Capital Partners, a private equity fund with over $1 billion under management that acquires and makes direct investments in growth equity technology companies. Mr. Kim joined as the firm's first employee in 2003. During his time at W Capital, Mr. Kim acquired direct investments in the secondary market from corporations, financial institutions and general partnerships while also focusing on structured and special situations investing. Prior to W Capital, Mr. Kim worked in operations as Director of Corporate Development at Zeborg (acquired by Emptoris), a venture-backed enterprise software company spun off from The Mitchell Madison Group, where he focused on financial operations and corporate strategy. He was also Director of Investments at ISL Management, a venture capital firm funded by JP Morgan dedicated to early stage financial services and software investing. Mr. Kim also worked as an investment banker with JPMorgan Chase (and its predecessors) and Robertson Stephens, where he worked on complex leveraged finance and merger and acquisition transactions across sectors including technology, financial and healthcare services and industrials. Mr. Kim holds a BS degree in Economics from The University of Chicago and an MBA with Honors from Columbia Business School.
Roy Thiele-Sardiña Managing Partner, HighBAR Roy Thiele-Sardiña is a successful venture capitalist and entrepreneur with over 25 years of investment and operating experience in the technology industry. Mr. Thiele-Sardiña most recently was Managing Director at Steelpoint Capital (a spin-out of the private equity group of Moore Capital Management). He initiated the firm's infrastructure investments in storage and security. Roy was also an Executive-In-Residence at the Mayfield Fund. Before becoming an angel investor and venture capitalist, Mr. Thiele-Sardiña was a highly regarded operating executive. He was co-founder & CEO of Ingrian Networks, a leading data privacy provider, and co-founder and CEO of Tasmania Networks, a cache proxy company (acquired by Cisco). He was also a member of the founding management team for Brocade Communications Systems. As Brocade's Vice President of Sales and Business Development, he signed the company's original OEM agreements. Prior to Brocade, he worked at Sun Microsystems for eleven years. While at Sun, Mr. Thiele-Sardiña started the company's telco business and grew it to 10% of Sun's worldwide revenue. He later led Sun's international sales and business development team. Mr. Thiele-Sardiña holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from New York University, Stern School of Business.
Nick Efstratis Managing Partner, EPIC Ventures Nick Efstratis has been a venture capitalist investing in seed and early-stage technology companies since 1999. Nick brings over a decade of investing experience coupled with direct operating experience in emerging enterprise and start-up companies. Along with the other Managing Directors of EPIC, he concurrently is an officer of Zion’s Bank SBIC Venture Fund. Prior to EPIC Ventures, Nick held numerous positions at Wasatch Venture Fund, including Associate, Partner and Managing Director. He was also an Officer of MACC Private Equities, a publicly traded investment management company. Mr. Efstratis has a B.S. in Entrepreneurship with a minor in Accounting/Economics from Brigham Young University. His M.B.A. is from the Marriott School.
