The importance of encrypting data in Kubernetes deployments

The rapid adoption of cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes is forcing IT teams and developers to reconsider the appropriate actions needed to secure information. The transition to DevSecOps has many steps and Secrets is a good start, but it only provides storage and management of sensitive information such as passwords, tokens and keys. What about the data?

If your data gets in to the wrong hands, the aftermath can be devasting and can affect an organization reputationally and financially. Data Encryption provides that last line of defense protecting your sensitive information and is a fundamental security requirement in any enterprise deployment. Unfortunately, the legacy method of implementing an encryption solution breaks down in Kubernetes environments, and does not inherently address data protection.

View this webinar for why granular data-at-rest encryption integrated into a Kubernetes storage layer is the best strategy to address security vulnerabilities unique to Kubernetes deployments.
